Today’s song comes courtesy of Mr.Pinkgeek! ha ha. That being my boyfriend!
He introduced me to this song and it’s so dang catchy!!
He also dedicated some of the lyrics to me, from him! Which, if you read this blog, you know lyrics are very important to me, so I was very taken back by him doing that!
The song is by a band called USS (or Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker). It’s a duo actually, a singer and a dj, from the Toronto (Ontario) area. They so far, have only been played on Edge 102, our local alternative station (as far as I know) but I really do think they could take off if they get enough exposure. So this, is my attempt at more exposure for them. Even a little bit helps!!
This song even has an old east-coast song in there (I’s the by that sails the boat!). I will bold the lyrics my boyfriend picked out from him, to me! <3
I love his voice, that catchy ska/drum and bass kinda sound, and the lyrics of course:)

Hollowpoint Sniper Hyperbole by USS
Thoughts seem to stumble out of my mouth
I can’t seem to stop and talk to them
Fear tries, to pierce the armor of truth
Hollow point sniper hyperbole
I can’t, seem
To follow a pendulum
And there must be organic cures for me
Report to base
Instrumental Case
Here’s the map to my oubliette
Once more,
I’m flying with Brian my friend
Hold me,
Bona Vista baby
Moose meat,
Neighbored a medley of beans
Screech me
I’s the by’s that built the boat
I’s the by’s that sailed her
I’s the by’s the sunk the ship
You’re the one that saved me,
With loveYou make me flow
You help me to grow
You make me glow
You help me to know

Wow. Just Wow. What a tear jerker of a song this is.
Crystal Shawanda is fromWikwemikong, Ontario, Canada. WHERE??? you ask? Kinda, Sorta, near Sudbury, Ontario lol
She released an album in Canada and this single FLEW up the charts. Probably because of it’s heart-wrenching and relatable lyrics. She is set to release the same album in the USA on July 15th!
You Can Let Go is one of those story-telling songs. It starts of with a little girl learning to ride her bike as her Dad holds on to the back. She finally has the courage to peddle on her own and tells him to let go! The next verse brings you to her wedding day. Her dad walks her down the aisle and is holding on tight, so she whispers “You can let go now, Daddy”.
The final verse, well. That’s the tear jerker. I won’t break it down here because it will ruin the song. Listen to it. It’s worth it.
I find comfort and answers to some unasked and hard questions in life in this song, like how to deal with growing up, getting married, finding courage, moving on. etc. I can think of one person who I’d love to play this song for, unfortunatley, I don’t think her emotions are ready for the lyrics yet. Maybe I’ll play it for her one day.

You Can Let Go by Crystal Shawanda
Wind blowin’ on my face
Sidewalk flyin’ beneath my bike
A five year-old’s first taste
Of what freedom’s really like
He was runnin’ right beside me
His hand holdin’ on the seat
I took a deep breath and hollered
As I headed for the street
Chorus
You can let go now, Daddy
You can let go
Oh, I think I’m ready
To do this on my own
(It’s still) (It still feels) a little bit scary
But I want you to know
I’ll be okay now, Daddy
You can let go
I was standin’ at the altar
Between the two loves of my life
To one I’ve been a daughter
To one I soon would be a wife
When the preacher asked,
‘Who gives this woman?’
Daddy’s eyes filled up with tears
He kept holdin’ tightly to my arm
‘Til I whispered in his ear
(Repeat Chorus)
It was killin’ me to see
The strongest man I ever knew
Wastin’ away to nothin’
In that hospital room
‘You know he’s only hangin’ on for you’
That’s what the night nurse said
My voice and heart were breakin’
As I crawled up in his bed, and said
You can let go now, Daddy
You can let go
Your little girl is ready
To do this on my own
It’s gonna be a little bit scary
But I want you to know
I’ll be okay now, Daddy
You can let go
You can let go

So today on the message board that I frequent, there was a post asking what unknown songs or artists you like that you think should be more well known. My first thought was Hedley ha ha, but really, it was Johnny Reid. He’s an incredible Canadian Country artist (with the most amazing Scottish Accent! heck yes!). He seems very humble from what I’ve seen, very happy to be where he is now etc. So today’s post is none other than Johnny Reid!
The song I picked is called “Thank You”. From the video, I gather it is about a wife singing to a husband who just passed away. I cried like a baby the first time I heard the lyrics and saw the video together.
I decided to take a different spin on it, and I put it on a cd and gave it to my parents for their anniversary. I thought it was a great song to reflect how thankful you are to the person who has stood beside you through the years.
Although I am not married, I can relate to the song. I could say thank you to my boyfriend for a lifetime and I hope I will always remember to thank him for everything! I couldn’t imagine a day without him and I am so thankful to have him:)
I could see this being a top contender for my wedding song if I were to get married! I think it can carry many different tones, depending on the message you are looking for from a song.
Here is the video:)
Watch the video and try not to cry by the end, I dare you! lol
*****I have to link to the video, I’m sorry. I can’t stream it! but it’s worth the click, I promise!!****
Thank You Video
Thank You: Johnny Reid
If I only had two words left to say to you.
With my last breath I’d confess the truth to you.
You’ve never left my side, even when I fell behind.
Thank-you, thank-you for the life you’ve given me.
Thank-you for sharing all your love and all your dreams.
Thank-you for every tear of happiness I’ve cried.
Thank-you for laying down beside me here tonight.
When I close my eyes, I say a prayer for one more day with you.
And when I wake, I embrace the one who pulls me though.
Who pulls me through the storm when I can’t go on.
Thank-you, thank-you for the life you’ve given me.
Thank-you for sharing all your love and all your dreams.
Thank-you, for every tear of happiness I’ve cried.
Thank-you for laying down beside me here tonight.
You’ve never let me down.
Its like you don’t know how.
Thank-you, thank-you for the life you’ve given me.
Thank-you, for sharing all your love and all your dreams.
Thank-you.
Thank-you.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY !!!
Even if you aren’t American, you should be taking the time to appreciate their holiday today. Their soldiers, their brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, husbands, wifes, moms, dads etc sacrifice day after day to keep not only the USA safe, but Canada as well.
I am aware we have military presence in some countries, but so does the USA. Even if you don’t support the war, you better support the soldiers and their families.
Today’s song is called “The Angry American” aka “Courtesy of The Red, White and Blue” and it’s by Toby Keith. He released this song shortly after the events of 9/11. I LOVE the lyrics and I love the tone in his voice and I hope that the song reminds you what happened that day, what is still happening today and why I think we should be thankful for their Military and all it keeps us safe from.
To the Peas who are missing someone serving your Country, this post is especially for you!
Enjoy:)
American Girls and American Guys
We’ll always stand up and salute
We’ll always recognize
When we see Ole Glory Flying
There’s a lot of men dead
So we can sleep in peace at night
When we lay down our head
My daddy served in the army
Where he lost his right eye
But he flew a flag out in our yard
Till the day that he died
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy
In the land of the free.
Now this nation that I love
Has fallen under attack
A mighty sucker punch came flying in
From somewhere in the back
Soon as we could see clearly
Through our big black eye
Man, we lit up your world
Like the 4th of July
Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shaking her fist
And the eagle will fly
And there’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringing her bell
And itll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Ahhh Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue
Ohhh Justice will be served
And the battle will rage
This big dog will fight
When you rattle his cage
And you’ll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
‘Cause we’ll put a boot in your ass
It’s the American way
Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shaking her fist
And the eagle will fly
And there’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringing her bell
And itll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue
Uhhh Ohhh
Of the Red, White and Blue
Ohhh Ohh Oh
Of My Red, White and Blue

Today’s song was a suggestion from a comment on the post below! Today’s song is from TRAVIS TRITT!! WOOT WOOT! He is amazing! His video’s always tell stories. Most of them make me cry. I am certain I can still hear him yelling his wife’s name in the Tell Me I Was Dreaming video.
Anyhoo, today’s song is called “Best of Intentions”. I once read a quote that said something like “Just because someone doesn’t love you the way that YOU want them to, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all of their heart”
I think I’m guilty (as I’m sure many of you have been at one time), of expecting a fairy tale love story, or to have a guy write love songs about you all the time and sweep you off your feet and fly you around the world etc. I bet you if you got down to the heart of the guy you love, you’d see these were his intentions. He loves you like a Queen, but can maybe only provide a Pauper’s lifestyle.
A lot of guys are afraid to show how they feel, and I think this song does a good job of reminding the ladies that they really love us and always hoped to give you the best, even if it fell through. And they do love you, no matter what:) For better or for worse were the vows right? I hope I never forget that if/when I ever get married!
**NOTE** I APOLOGIZE FOR THIS VIDEO. IT’S THE ONLY ONE THAT WOULD LINK PROPERLY**
Best Of Intentions by Travis Tritt
I had big plans for our future
Said I’d give you the whole world somehow
I tried makin’ good on that promise
Thought I’d be so much further by now
Never could build you a castle
Even though you’re the queen of my heart
But I’ve had the best of intentions from the start
Now some people think I’m a loser
‘Cause I seldom get things right
But you make me feel like a winner
When you wrap me in your arms so tight
Please tell me you will remember
No matter how much I do wrong
That I had the best of intentions all along
I gave you a ring
And I promised you things
I always thought we’d do
But my best-laid plans
Slipped right through my hands
To show my love for you
And if you could read my heart
Then you’d know without exception
It was all with the best of intentions
I gave you a ring
And I promised you things
I always thought we’d do
But my best-laid plans
Slipped right through my hands
To show my love for you
And if you could read my heart
Then you’d know without exception
It was all with the best of intentions
So here I am asking forgiveness
And praying that you’ll understand
Don’t think I take you for granted
Girl, I know just how lucky I am
Though you deserve so much better
You won’t find devotion more true
‘Cause I’ve had the best of intentions
Girl, I’ve had the best of intentions
Yes, I’ve had the best of intentions loving you

So this isn’t a song that most of us haven’t heard. But it’s the person who’s covering it that makes it amazing!
Justin Bieber is 12 or 13 years old (from what I can gather from online sources), and is from Canada. My mouth literally dropped to the floor when I heard the first note out of his mouth
Here is Cry Me A River – originally done by Justin Timberlake
and here is Chris Brown’s With You… amazing!! He’s singing to Esmee Denters, another incredibly talented Youtube turned star!
I will post something a little less fluffy tommorow, but for now, enjoy!:)
