Someone on a forum that I frequent posted this song in a thread about favourite lyrics. I was really taken by the lyrics, even though I was reading them at work where I couldn’t attempt to youtube it and hear the melody.

I think this song is beautiful and a bold and blunt reminder that everyone needs to suck up their pride, honor, whatever it may be that’s holding them back from saying how the feel and just do it.

We aren’t promised forever. We aren’t promised tomorrow or even the next hour but what we are promised as Canadians is that you CAN say what you need to say and not fear the outcome of that because we all have freedom of speech. That is probably a gift that many of us often forget about on a daily basis until we read some tragic news article about a soldier being hurt or killed overseas. Take a few minutes every day to remember soldiers over there now and before us, even if you don’t support the war, support the people who are over there fighting so that you can say what you need to say.

Also, listen to this song well, especially the part that I bolded. Remember that because we aren’t promised anything more than the very second we are in right now, you need to tell those you love just how much you love them. Tell them everything you’ve wanted to say but thought “nah, I’d sound cheesy or like a sap”. You may never get another chance to be a “sap” so say what you need to say and mean it!
